Contribute to Research and Policy Discourse

CHSIA welcomes original commentaries and short-form articles that offer informed perspectives, critical analysis, and policy-relevant insights into contemporary global developments. We invite submissions of 800–1,200 words from scholars, researchers, practitioners, and emerging voices working in fields such as International Affairs, Strategic Studies, Security Studies, Political Science, Gender Studies, Sociology, Economics, Geography, Cultural Studies, Development Studies, and Peace and Conflict Studies, including related interdisciplinary areas.

Submission Guidelines

Prospective contributors are requested to submit an email outlining their proposed contribution. The submission should include the following:

Synopsis or Outline: A brief overview of the proposed article, highlighting its central argument, key themes, and intended contribution.

Abstract: An abstract of approximately 150 words summarising the main argument, key findings or insights, and broader relevance of the piece.

Keywords: Five keywords that capture the principal themes and subject areas addressed in the article.

Thematic Alignment: An indication of the specific CHSIA research theme or thematic area under which the proposed contribution would best fit.

CHSIA seeks to provide a platform for rigorous analysis, diverse perspectives, and informed debate on pressing global and regional issues. We welcome contributions that advance understanding, encourage critical engagement, and enrich policy discourse.

Submissions should demonstrate analytical depth, clarity of argument, and relevance to contemporary debates in international affairs, security, strategy, and public policy.

The manuscript must be the author’s original work and must not duplicate any previously published material, including the author’s own publications.

The manuscript must be submitted exclusively to CHSIA and must not be under consideration, peer review, accepted for publication, in press, or published elsewhere.

Authors must submit a separate page containing their professional information and a brief biography of 3–4 sentences, with a maximum of 60–80 words. This page should include details such as the author’s institutional affiliation, professional title, and email address.

Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and proper formatting of all references and citations. In-text citations should be provided as hyperlinks, and references to existing publications should be included where appropriate.

The CHSIA Editorial Team will evaluate each manuscript for its relevance to the Centre’s thematic focus, content requirements, and overall editorial direction, as well as its compliance with the Centre’s submission guidelines. Following this assessment, the Director of CHSIA will make the final publication decision.

CHSIA publications are made available in open access format, permitting non-commercial reuse, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided that the original work is properly cited and is not altered, transformed, or built upon in any way.
