Message from the Director

The Centre for Human Security and International Affairs (CHSIA) serves as a hub for research and policy analysis, actively providing a platform for scholars from the Global South and beyond to share diverse perspectives and contribute to scholarship and policy dialogue on human security and international affairs.

The growing interconnections among economic and political developments, climate change, and technological transformation make research on human security and international affairs more significant than ever. New issues and increasingly complex global challenges demand in-depth, rigorous, and nuanced analysis. CHSIA brings together established and early-career scholars and analysts from diverse academic and professional disciplines to foster critical thinking, encourage interdisciplinary research, and promote policy-relevant analysis of the pressing challenges confronting the world and its regions.

CHSIA fulfills this role through its dedicated research clusters. Its research is organized around two principal interdisciplinary clusters—Human Security and International Affairs—encompassing a range of specialized sub-themes. Together, these clusters provide an intellectual space for sustained scholarly engagement, dialogue, and collaborative research on emerging and enduring issues of global significance.

Our non-resident fellows and analysts actively engage with universities, research institutes, and think tanks, contributing to a wider network of scholarship and policy dialogue. Their diverse expertise and institutional affiliations strengthen CHSIA’s commitment to fostering meaningful academic exchange and generating research that deepens our understanding of contemporary global challenges.
